Had an excellent time celebrating my husbands birthday here. The food was great, loved the journey it took us on. All of the raw fish dishes were super fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding, very thoughtful and they did an excellent job describing everything we were being served and talking us through the sake menu. It's a higher cost meal so definitely a special occasion level for us, but we are definitely going to be coming back. Note it is a small dining room and quiet, we enjoyed that and were still able to feel comfortable conversing and enjoying eachothers company without feeling like we were bothering the other tables.

What an incredible time I had at Yoichi’s in Santa Barbara! Everything there just felt like an art form – every dish seemed so thoughtfully prepared, perfectly presented, and tasted incredibly well put together. The atmosphere was wonderful, cozy and elegant. And every dish had its own special place in history. I absolutely loved the location and the overall vibe and the fantastic service that we were provided throughout our meal.

The 8-course meal we had was absolutely incredible. Food was presented and explained by the most friendly waitstaff, making the experience unlike the overly precious prix fixe meals we have had in other restaurants. Standout items for me included ika nigiri which was so uniquely creamy, a swoon-worthy corn bechamel atop sea bass, baby octopus with seaweed and vinegar, but everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately I forgot to photograph several of the courses. We will definitely come back.

We chose this establishment to commemorate our wedding anniversary. We have a fondness for Japanese cuisine and decided to experience what this restaurant had to offer. While we initially anticipated an à la carte menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the course dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed each course, with the exception of the main course, which we found to be slightly oversalted. Nevertheless, we truly appreciated the meticulous preparation, beautiful presentation, and delightful flavors of the dishes. We typically do not favor ginger, but we found the ginger served here to have a distinct and enjoyable taste compared to what we are accustomed to. For dessert, we sampled both the black sesame pudding and the green tea pudding, with the black sesame being our preferred choice.
